FiberTite Roofing Installation for Baha Mar ResortsWith the many roofing membranes on the market, it can be difficult to determine which is best for your commercial building. The items listed below demonstrate how using a ELVALOY™ Ketone Ethylene Ester membrane can increase a building’s performance through energy efficiencies, durability, stability and overall life cycle cost.

Lower Life Cycle Cost

Due to the long services life of a ELVALOY™ KEE membrane, the life cycle cost is one of the lowest in the roofing industry. A longer service life means less production disruption due to frequent replacements or major repair / renovations.

Increased Durability of the Membrane

The chemical makeup and perfect marriage between ELVALOY™ KEE and PVC creates a new compound that is more abrasion resistant and flexible than other membranes. It also has great weldability, reparability and permanence.

Great Chemical Resistance

The new compound created is resistant to many chemicals. Because the ELVALOY™ KEE has a higher molecular weight than the PVC it does not migrate and is not broken down by animal fats, greases, oils, hydrocarbons, jet fuels, etc.

Superior Puncture Resistance

The reinforcing fabric is the foundation of the membrane’s puncture resistance, and is engineered with a much higher fiber content. This fabric provides  superior puncture and tear resistance compared to membranes over twice as thick.

Great UV and Flame Resistance

The ELVALOY™ KEE membrane has great UV and flame resistance. Other membranes lose flexibility because of UV exposure. In flame tests, the membrane is self-extinguishing when the flame source is taken away. Other roofing membranes will continue to burn.

Excellent Solar Reflectance and Solar Emittance

Energy attributes of an off-white ELVALOY™ KEE membrane has a solar reflectance of 79% under ASTM E903. The same membrane, aged 3 years, has a solar reflectance of 66% before cleaning and 78% after cleaning. The solar emittance is 95% under the ASTM E408 test and the membrane has an excellent rating of 98.54% on the solar reflective index.
