Project Details: Mont Bleu Resort Casino & Spa | Installed November, 2006

Name: Mont Bleu Resort Casino & Spa
Dates: Installed in November, 2006
Location: Stateline, NV U.S.A.

Project Story:

Mont Bleu Resort Casino & Spa, owned by Columbia Sussex, a Kentucky based development firm involved in building major hotels and casinos across the country, is situated at the foot of Heavenly Ski Resort in the Sierra Nevada Mountains just across from Lake Tahoe. The facilities offer luxurious accommodations with more than four hundred hotel rooms for guests, multiple venues for fine and casual dining, a full service spa and fitness center, a casino, lounges, bars and a theatre that hosts live entertainment.

When it came time to re-roof this facility, of prime importance to the owner was the need to select a system that could be easily installed without disrupting the busy hum of the activities operated on site. The owner wanted to replace an old modified bitumen system with a product that would be uniform and aesthetically pleasing on a roof with multiple levels and sections and a variety of substrates. Further, the system needed to be installed in inclement weather conditions.

After performing a comprehensive review of the existing building conditions, Independent Roofing Consultants (IRC) of Dublin, CA determined that a thermoplastic single-ply adhered system, incorporating polyisocyanurate insulation and a fiberglass wrapped gypsum core board would best address the owner's needs.

"We specified the FiberTite product," reported Rob Worthing, Project Manager for IRC, "because it met the owner's needs and provided proven long-term, cold weather performance."

Based on the unique qualities of this installation, its size and significance in this geographic region and the sales efforts involved in the job, Mont Bleu Resort Casino & Spa received prestigious recognition in the roofing community for being named the “2006 FiberTite Project of the Year”. Sharing this award are: Tom Absher of Source 7, the FiberTite Manufacturer’s Representative firm in Northern California, IRC, and Western Single Ply, the contractor based in Sparks, NV.
