Why FiberTite® Outperforms in Extreme Environments and Severe Weather
From temperature extremes to hurricane force winds, the elements are simply no match for a FiberTite roofing system.
From intense heat and extreme cold to the wind force and debris impact associated with the mightiest of hurricanes, FiberTite roofing systems have a proven track record of outstanding performance.
Since the 1970s, buildings equipped with FiberTite Roofing Systems have consistently weathered the elements and enjoyed unmatched long-term, low-maintenance performance and low lifecycle cost even in the most challenging settings.
For example, the 2004 hurricane season that cost Florida billions of dollars in damages and claimed more than 100 lives also pummeled approximately 60 million square feet of FiberTite roofing membrane that lay in the four storms’ paths. But hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne did little more than grant FiberTite Roofing Systems the chance to demonstrate champion strength. In fact, FiberTite’s superior performance in the face of these disasters convinced more than 10 building owners to switch to FiberTite.
The foundation for our outstanding track record lies in Seaman Corporation’s widely recognized high performance geomembrane innovation and more than 55 years of proven fabric technology.
Despite weather extremes, FiberTite membranes maintain their flexibility and watertight attributes throughout the life of the roof, due largely to the fact that FiberTite’s polymer formula calls for more than 50% of DuPont™ Elvaloy® Ketone Ethylene Ester (KEE). In addition, FiberTite’s proprietary knit design incorporates the highest denier polyester fibers to create a formidable internal barrier to puncture.
But superior performance in extreme environments only begins with a stellar product. Each FiberTite system is tailored to meet the unique engineering and environmental design requirements of individual facilities. FiberTite technical representatives provide job site support to our select group of contractors during installation and remain available for maintenance support for the life of the roof.
