Cover boards provide a smooth, flat, dimensionally stable surface for our FiberTite roofing membrane to be applied over – preventing long-term “telegraphing” of uneven surfaces and irregularities from below. It also shields the insulation layer beneath it from damaging foot traffic, equipment, and the mechanical stresses of installation.
Cover boards are a performance-enhancing part of a commercial roof system layered between the insulation and membrane to provide:
- Puncture resistance: Enhances protection from damage caused by foot traffic, maintenance activities, and severe weather.
- Wind uplift protection: Improves the roof system’s ability to resist high-wind conditions and potential damage.
- Fire resistance: Contributes to resisting flame spread, helping enhance building safety and mitigate damage in the event of a fire.
- Moisture management: Helps protect facilities from unwanted moisture infiltration, making it ideal for sensitive environments.
