Universal Studios, Orlando, covers more than 1 million sq.ft. with FiberTite® roofing membrane.

Project Details: Universal Studios | Installed June, 1997

Name: Universal Studios
Dates: Installed in June, 1997
Location: Orlando, FL U.S.A.

Project Story:

The destructive force of intense UV concentrations and extreme heat produced by the Florida sun were primary considerations in the installation of over 40 roofs at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. So FiberTite® Roofing Systems, the only proven performer under these tough conditions, was chosen for the job. This highly durable, easily installed roof membrane provided high weather resistance with maximum light reflectivity for high energy savings.

For more than 50 years, Seaman Corporation has been manufacturing membranes that must survive in extremely hostile environments like nuclear waste holding tanks, oil and chemical holding tanks and ponds, and mining conveyor belts. Seaman Corporation is also the world’s largest supplier of architectural fabrics to the fabric structure industry, where the membrane functions as the roof itself rather than just as the water– and weather–proofing membrane.

Using advanced technology, Seaman Corporation has created economical ways of building into its FiberTite Roofing Systems a level of endurance and performance factors that are well beyond other roofing membranes. The end user benefits from using FiberTite because the initial installation cost is very competitive, and the proven long–term durability provides long lasting value.
