Below are several questions to ask yourself in order to determine if installing a solar array system is right for you.

The International Roofing Expo is a must-attend event for anyone in the roofing industry. The expo aims to provide roofing professionals with the information and education needed in order to stay abreast of the latest market trends and technology.

When it comes to roofing systems, there are a variety of inspections that can be performed. Infrared inspections are used to detect moisture within the roofing system primarily within the insulation. This inspection helps find voids and deficiencies with a roof before total system collapse occurs.

Don’t just look at the initial cost (short term), be sure to look at the life cycle cost (long term).

The definition of life cycle cost is the sum of all recurring and one time (non-recurring) costs over the full lifespan, or over a specified period, of a good, service, structure, or system. It includes purchase price, installation cost, operating costs, maintenance and upgrade costs, and remaining (residual or salvage) value at the end of ownership or its useful life.

Don’t wait for your roof to leak to begin a maintenance routine. Inspect your roof at least 2 times a year and after any major weather event as a proactive stance against wear and tear.

Now that fall is upon us and winter is around the corner, this is a good time to inspect your roof. If you don’t have the personnel on staff, call a qualified manufacturer, contractor or consultant to inspect the roof for you and provide you with a plan of action to address any immediate repairs and housekeeping such as cleaning drains and gutters. Many warranties also require that you keep a log of the maintenance and inspection performed in order to stay in compliance. It’s also wise to have before and after photos taken of any deficiencies or housekeeping that are found and addressed. Remember to always check with your manufacturers warranty before performing any work on your roof so you don’t void your warranty.
